The Hemp Farmers Guild gives farmers a strong voice in shaping the future of California America’s Hemp industry. For Food, Fiber, CBD

Our Mission: Building a Strong Hemp Industry in California

Founded to give California’s Hemp farmers a strong and unified voice in legislation and regulation governing hemp cultivation, processing, manufacturing and retail. We advance the interests of the hemp industry by educating regulators and policymakers at the state and local level on the facts of hemp cultivation and the hemp supply chain. Our mission is to expand California’s hemp economy by advocating for reasonable regulations governing hemp cultivation, processing, manufacturing and the retail sale of high quality, safe hemp products.

California’s Only Hemp Agricultural Trade Association

Many of the organizations purporting to represent California’s hemp industry are heavily influenced or controlled outright by high THC cannabis or out-of-state Big CBD companies.  These groups have little interest in protecting California’s hemp industry and have shown their true colors by advocating for legislation and regulation that hurt our farmers, manufacturers and retailers.

As an agricultural trade association, we are focused on helping California’s hemp industry grow.  Our membership is made up of California’s hemp farmers, processors, manufacturers, retailers, activists and those who work or do business in the Golden State’s hemp industry.

Christopher J. Boucher

DIRECTOR

Chris Boucher is widely recognized as one of the preeminent figures in the American Industrial Hemp movement. In 1994, Boucher grew the first legal hemp research field in America in more than fifty years in Brawley California that was contracted by the USDA and the Imperial County Agricultural Commissioner. The project was documented by CNN and is seen as a milestone in American’s hemp history. In 1992 Boucher co-founded the Hemp Industries Association.

Chris also co-authored the landmark “Hemp CBD is Legal in All 50 States” in 2012. This was instrumental in kickstarting the US Hemp CBD industry into the billion dollar industry that it has become. In 1991, Chris Boucher founded The Hempstead Company, as one of the first hemp clothing and seed businesses in the US in more than five decades. Boucher’s company marketed and sold hemp seed, hemp seed oil, hemp textiles, and hemp clothing in 1000s of stores globally. Clients included Converse Shoes, the Disney Stores, The Beatles (for their Anthology Release), The Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Ziggy Marley, the Turner Foundation, the Bob Marley Foundation, Save the Earth Foundation, and the Rainforest Action Network. Boucher has grown hemp in China, Poland, Hungary, Romania and around the US. He has also helped draft and promote hemp legislation, resulting in the first hemp agricultural laws in California and Colorado between 1994 – 2017. In 1997 Boucher’s work with the Navajo Nation in Arizona was key in passing the first Native American Hemp laws for the cultivation of hemp on reservations.

Most recently, Chris has launched a new wellness product Juice-tiva™- an exciting and innovative hemp juice powder. Chris has been interviewed on 150+ radio stations, reaching an audience of 20+million. Boucher is CEO of Farmtiva Inc in San Diego CA. He resides in Laguna Beach, CA with his wife and donates his time as a mentor to underserved youth in South Central Los Angeles. He travels the country to speak and consult  on behalf of agricultural hemp and the new American hemp industry.
